Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I have a question relating to the finances of my business?
You will be assigned an accountant who you will be able to call and ask a question. He will provide you assistance just like your own accountant would in your office. Of course, you can also contact him by email or fax.

How long does it take for you to take over my accounting?
Since we serve small business only, no transition takes longer than 30-60 days.

I have only a part-time accountant so my accounting costs are really low already. Can you still help me?
Yes we can. We can take over your accounting completely and save you money over what your are paying your current accountant.

How do I retain control over approving all my transactions?
While we do the work, you will have complete control over all your transactions. No checks can be issued till you sign them, no entries will be posted till you approve them. We will not mail any outward bound document (such as invoices, paystubs, purchase orders) till you have approved them, or if you so wish, we can send the documents to you to review and mail. If you send us approved invoices, we will create a payment based upon your instructions that you can note on the invoice. We will even allow you to do a second approval online where you can look at the invoice image and choose to pay or reject it.

Will you take my original documents?
No. We will not keep your original documents. If you are based in the NY/NJ area, we can almost certainly arrange to pick up and copy your documents and return the originals back to you. If you are outside this area, you can either mail/fax copies to our New Jersey office, or just bundle together the originals and we will take care of the copies, returning the original to you in no time.

What software will you use?
We provide services solely on Quickbooks, which we believe to be a best in class offering for small businesses.

Where is AMTAX Accounting Services based?
We have offices in New Jersey, USA and New Delhi, India. The New Jersey office deals with clients and carries out activities that can only be done in the US. The New Delhi office is where the data processing happens.

Can I speak to someone locally?
Yes. In addition to your accountant who is offshore, you can speak to your account executives based in New Jersey who will resolve any concerns you might have
